Mikel A. Glavinovich is a member of the firm's Energy, Oil & Gas, Business, Commercial, & Complex Litigation, and Insurance Coverage & Professional Liability practice groups. Ms. Glavinovich graduated from Willamette University in 1993 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and English. Prior to attending college, Ms. Glavinovich served as an Intern in the United States Senate. Ms. Glavinovich received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Arizona College of Law in 1995. While in law school, Ms. Glavinovich received honors in Moot Court and served as Articles Editor of the Arizona Journal of International and Comparative Law. Ms. Glavinovich specializes in complex business litigation, including financial institution litigation, and has extensive experience in insurance coverage matters. In addition, Ms. Glavinovich has drafted insurance policy language as well as related contracts, and also drafted negotiation guidelines for use by national insurance companies. Ms. Glavinovich handles appellate matters as well as class action disputes, and has provided pro bono counsel to the SSI Children's Coalition, the Alliance for Children's Rights and FREEPLAY. She also provides pro bono services through the Los Angeles County Bar Association's Domestic Violence Project.Ms. Glavinovich is the author of International Suggestions for Improving Parental Leave in the United States, 13 Arizona Journal of International and Comparative Law 147 (1996); and co-authored Tales from the Corporate Trail: The California Supreme Court Clarifies Insurance Rules for Policy Assignment between Corporate Successors, Mealey's Litigation Report: Insurance (March 11, 2003).Ms. Glavinovich is a member of the State Bar of California and the Los Angeles County Bar Association, and a founder of the Anchorage Youth Court in Anchorage, Alaska. She is admitted to practice before the State Courts and U.S. District Courts of California, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and has argued before the Ninth Circuit Bankruptcy Panel. |
