AlvaradoSmith provides high quality legal services in connection with trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, privacy rights, and related intellectual property matters.
We understand that a trademark can be one of the most valuable assets of any business. As such, we counsel our clients about the details of trademark matters as they develop brand images and names. We help clients develop intellectual property strategies, identify and perfect intellectual property rights, and assert or defend these rights in appropriate tribunals. Perhaps most importantly, we work on developing cost effective strategies to identify and protect our client’s rights.
We handle all aspects of trademark law including trademark searches, prosecuting applications, handling opposition and cancellation proceedings, prosecuting and defending infringement and dilution claims, resolving domain name disputes, handling import protection, and co-existence and license agreements.
We handle large trademark portfolios for many clients which include both domestic and international registrations. Through the Firm’s relationships with other law firms, we have the experience and capability to advise clients on how to protect their trademarks internationally. We also work with our clients to maximize the counterfeit import protections afforded U.S. trademarks under the laws and regulations of the United States.
We also protect and enforce copyrights through counseling, registration, and licensing agreements. We represent authors, companies, colleges, and other organizations in connection with the protection of their copyright portfolios. This includes advising clients on privacy rights, publicity rights, website related issues, fair use, the TEACH Act, and prosecuting and defending copyright infringement claims.
