Jacob M. Clark is an Associate in the Firm's Santa Ana office. His areas of practice are financial institution litigation with an emphasis in mortgage banking and lender liability, general business litigation, and commercial tenancy. He represents major financial institutions, including banks, mortgage lenders and mortgage loan servicers. He is well versed in the California nonjudicial foreclosure laws, including the new Homeowner’s Bill of Rights that went into effect January 1, 2013.
Jacob has obtained positive results for his clients through his creative approach in dealing with novel issues and finding new arguments to address re-litigated issues in order to obtain different result. His ability to thoroughly and efficiently research legal issues has allowed Jacob to be successful not only in pretrial dispositive motions, but on the appellate level as well.
Jacob received his J.D. in 2009 from UCLA School of Law. While attending UCLA, Jacob interned with both the United States Securities and Exchange Commission and the Investment Protection Bureau of the New York State Attorney General's Office. Prior to his admittance to the bar, Jacob was an investigator for the Employee Benefits and Securities Administration of the United States Department of Labor, where he worked on ERISA related issues and violations.
Before joining AlvaradoSmith, Jacob primarily represented plaintiffs in personal injury lawsuits. These personal injury actions ranged from “slip and fall” and automobile collisions to serious injuries relating to product defects.

Maconick v. Chase Home Finance LLC, et al. – represented JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. in an action brought by a borrower who claimed that JPMorgan did not obtain beneficial interest in subject loan. Borrower appealed the lower court’s decision to dismiss the borrower’s quiet title cause of action for failure to state a valid claim. The California Court of Appeal affirmed the ruling in favor of our client.
